Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor, and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a master's degree from the department of English literature. In 1967 Mitchell became a reporter for KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia. She was then a reporter for the CBS-affiliate WDVM-TV, (then WTOP) located situated in Washington DC. In Washington she was made general reporter by NBC News two year later. In 1980, she began covering the White House. 1988 became the chief congressional journalist. Mitchell was promoted to the chief White House correspondent in 1992. As well as the the chief correspondent for foreign affairs at NBC News. Mitchell hosted and participated as panelists on the TV program Meet the Press. Mitchell was a panelist in 1988's presidential debates in which George Bush against Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan, former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell received in 2005 the Goldsmith Career Award in Journalism in The John F. Kennedy School of Government. And in 2004 the Radio-Television News Directors Association, (RTNDA) recognized Mitchell for her role in defending First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell began covering for the White House for NBC News from 1981 to 1988, during both Ronald Reagan's presidency. Mitchell has reported on a variety of notable news stories throughout the years, such as the tax reforms, budget reforms, and the Iran Contra affair. She travelled frequently with Reagan as well as Mikhail Gorbachev to world summits.
